Frequently Asked Questions.
How can I book an appointment?
Thanks for wanting to book with me! The easiest way to start the process is using the from located on the homepage of this site. The more information you can provide regarding size and design idea the better. Reference images are helpful if you have a specific style or design in mind, but please keep in mind I will not copy another artist’s tattoo. I take pride in designing custom pieces for my clients and giving everyone their own original piece of art. It can also be helpful to have a picture of the area you plan on getting the tattoo, especially if the piece will be between existing works.
How much does a tattoo cost?
This is hard to answer without knowing specific information about what you want. I do charge a $100-$200 dollar deposit depending on the size of the piece to hold your appointment, which will go toward the total cost. For some pieces it makes more sense to charge by the hour and some pieces I will charge a flat day or half-day rate. I can give you a price range estimate before the appointment is booked. If you have a budget you need to stay within for a session, let me know and we can work around it.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash is preferred but I am also able to take debit/credit cards, Venmo, PayPal, and Cashapp. Some of these options do have additional fees attached to use where cash does not.
What days do you work?
My schedule currently is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
What do you like to tattoo?
My favorite styles and subjects include:
Dark art nouveau
Neotraditional
Black and gray realism
Sci-fi
Fantasy
Animals
Florals
Skulls
Ornamental
I work largely in black and gray but am happy to take on color pieces as well. Some of my favorite tattoos I have done ended up being completely different from my usual work, so let me know your ideas and we can collaborate together!
Can I bring a friend with me?
Bringing a close friend or family member can help provide comfort during the tattoo process and we welcome guests. Please let your guest know that they will be sitting for a long period with little to do besides talk with us! They will need to be able to keep some distance to avoid interfering with the tattoo process and help ensure the procedure is completed safely and sanitarily.
What else should I bring to my appointment?
Things that make you feel comfy! A pillow or blanket (I do have a pillow available for use), water or a drink with electrolytes, snacks (no nuts allowed), and comfortable clothes. It’s always a good idea to consider what area you will be getting tattooed when getting dressed. Zip up hoodies can help keep you warm while allowing access to an arm, shorts under sweatpants if you tend to be cold are a good idea. We supply pasties for coverage during any sensitive tattoos.
Where are you located?
I tattoo out of Valiant Arts and Tattoo, located at 35508 Groesbeck Highway, Clinton Township Michigan
What’s the studio like?
We’re a close group of friends and the space is built on respect for each other and our clients. Everyone is welcome in our studio as long as they reciprocate that respect for us and for other guests. We do not discriminate anyone based on gender, sexuality, race, profession, or previous poor tattoo choices. We do all tattoo in one main area, however there is a private room available for those who need it. Please let me know ahead of time if you would like more privacy so we can ensure the room is available and properly set up.
